How the Garden Was Built
The first photo shows me with my granddaughter, Thayer, as I explain why I plan to build a vegetable garden right here on the edge of the parking lot. In the background, you can still see the old telephone pole. The metal storage locker was once used to hold surplus COA gear before the addition was built onto the back of the building.
Cultivating Wildflowers
Wildflowers are beautiful—and they’re hardworking allies in the garden. By attracting and sustaining pollinators, wildflowers help our veg grow bigger, tastier, and more abundant. Our dream is to establish a wildflower patch that eventually spreads on its own across the scruffy edges of the Victory Garden.
